Christmas Eve

Daddy took you over to MeMe and Papa Mike's early in the afternoon and you played with Papa Mike and then took a nap with him. He said that you wore him out. You came home and took a shower with Daddy and then we went back to MeMe's. We ate dinner and watched Christmas Vacation Movie. You sat next to me and helped me open you presents. You would play with everything I opened for the most part. You let me put a bow on your head and you did not mess with it. You played with the cell phone and glow worm the most. Then we opened your Handy Manny Car and you loved it. Daddy took it out of the package and rode you around like you were a funny car racing. He took you in the kitchen and raced you. Papa Mike rode you around some. You got soo tired that you would smile when going forward but when he pulled you back you put your head down like you were going to fall asleep. But as soon as he got all the way back and started counting to go again your head would shoot up and you would smile and laugh. It was too cute. We put you in the car to go to Grandma's and you fell asleep after you ate some bottle. When we got to Grandma's you had a hard time going back to sleep but you did eventually.

One Year Old

I can't believe it. You turned one year old last Sunday! Kelton, you never cease to amaze me everyday. I look at you and wonder how did I get so lucky to have such a great kid. You generally are in a good mood. You are still fast to give a smile and lately you have been soo loving. You give hugs and kisses at your own free will. You walk some now. You can take up to about 10 steps without falling. It is soo exciting to see you do it because you know you are doing something great and you will smile and clap. Mama and Dada are your only clear words still but sometimes you will say Ball or Bye and MeMe has been in there a few times. You still have your same old night time routine. I feed you a bottle and rock you asleep. You take showers with Daddy now and you love it. The only thing is that you do not like to sit still anymore so Daddy has to only bathe you while you are in there. Last night you kept putting your head farther back when Daddy was rinsing your hair and you kept getting mad but it was your own fault. Another thing you do now is that you have to see Eeyore in the morning and give him kisses. You squint went you smile now, it is too cute. You have 6 teeth and sometimes you grind them together. You still have to have the paci but I try to keep it away from you as much as possible. You drink great out of a straw and you eat some solid foods. You love drinking tea from Papa Mike's glass.

We went to the Dr. on Monday and you were 20lbs. 3ozs. and 31 inches long. She said that you looked great and are growing just fine. We talked about you switching to whole milk and eating more table food. You had to have 5 shots. 2 in 1 leg, 1 in the other leg and one in each arm. You did good, you only cried for a few minutes. Though you were cranky for the rest of the day and did not sleep hardly at all Monday night. You have a cold right now but you are doing okay. You are still sleeping which is a blessing.

Christmas Tree

He did not want to sit in front of the tree long.

He loves playing with tops. I bought some cheap ones at the Dollar Store that had Pooh and Tigger on them and he can play with these forever. The only catch is that you have to keep spinning them for him. He likes to stop them from spinning. One time he slapped at one and hit the peg on top with his hand, which hurt him, but my smart cookie realized not to slap at them anymore and to hit them from the side. I love to see him figure things out. It is funny sometimes the things that he learns that we take for granted. His Papa Mike and Daddy play with him and the tops quiet regular lately.

I have no idea why he does this but he just lays his head on the floor sometimes.

That was the only ornament that I let him touch, even now he will go up to it and look at it but he has not tried to touch much else on the tree.

New Things

Kelton is trying his hardest to walk. Granted he has been taking steps on his own for a little over a week now. But he can only take about 4 steps and then falls. This weekend he realized that he needed to take it slower and he seemed to so really well. We might have a walker by Christmas!

He is saying all kinds of sounds now. Other than Mama and Dada he does not say any words but he is getting close. He talks to you like he is having a conversation and ever laughs at him self like he just said something funny.

He likes the Christmas tree. ( yes I finally got it up) He does good and has not tried to touch it too much. When we took out the tree I found his Pooh snow globe that Big Grandma bought for him last year. When you play the music and shake it he laughs and grins. He also loves the mechanical pooh that claps together symbols to the music as well as the santa that reads the night before christmas that Meme bought him last year too. It is soo much fun to play with him with these things. It makes me more excited about christmas.

I had to get on the him this morning for playing with the dogs water bowl. He touched it and I told him no 3 times. The last time he gave me the look like he knows he is not supposed to do it but he is going to do it anyway. So I popped him on the leg through his pants and I think he got my meaning of no because it upset him. Not for long though but I hope he remembers that no means no.

I have pictures of him in front of the tree and with his things but I forgot the thing to link to the computer so it will have to wait.

First true temper tantrum

Ok. My sweet normally happy little boy had his first temper tantrum last night.

I had been sitting by the door in his room and he climbed in my lap and stood up. He could reach the door handle and was playing with it. I told him he needed to get down and he did but when he went back to the door and realized he could not reach the door handle on his own, he started to whine. Then that whine started getting louder and before I realized it he is laying on the floor on his back kicking and crying. Crying with real tears so I was not sure to if he had hurt himself or not but after watching him, it was definitley just him being mad. I just sat and watched trying not to react because everyone says to not react at all and then they will get bored with it and quit. It took about 3-4 minutes to finally get him up on his own and he then came over to me and cuddled. My momma would not have liked me letting him cry but it was his deal and I hope this is not a sign of things to come.

I do not know what he is doing here. He looks like a rapper to me or a king trying to get you to kiss his hand. HaHa.

Ricky's Birthday

It was Ricky's Birthday yesterday. We went to Red Lobster with family.

I can't figure out how to get this photo to rotate the right way. I tried everything. Oh well.

Santa

Ricky just had to spike up Kelton's hair. Aunt Debbie did better ones but do no have them with me to scan them.
At least both of them were smiling.

Kelton slept hard.

He woke up Fri. morning with a mark on his nose because he slept so hard. I love how his eyes always look puffy when he wakes up.

First Thanksgiving

We went to my aunts as usual. It was great as usual. We had around 160 there this year.

Kelton got a Turkey bib from Becky and Elisabeth. It was soo cute.

Kelton was trying to give Emma kisses.

We went to Grandma and Pa's after lunch and Aunt Kathy wanted pictures of Kody and Kelton with Pa on the tractor. Kelton was not having it. He was soo tired though. He did like is tractor ride with Pa. I think Pa is trying to show him the tire. After that he took a nice long nap with Grandma.

Not Me! Monday.

This morning I did not let my 11 month old play with my body spray that he now knows how to unscrew. Minutes later I did not let him play with my mascara thinking that there is no way he could open that! Oh no he opened it in less that 3 second and had thrown the wand on the rug and his hands were covered in black. Thank God for make up remover wipes. What little ones learn way before you think they should know it.
