Bath Time

Kelton got to have a bath tonight. He normally takes a shower with Daddy but he had already showered earlier. I let him play with his new crayons that he can use to draw on the wall. He liked it. He understood that he was to use it to make marks.

He likes to play with anything he can get his hands on. So if it is near the tub it is going in the tub. Don't you like mine and his artwork?

He loves playing with the drain as the water goes out and several times I have to reopen the drain because he has closed it. Gotta love that smile. He likes to play with the handle on the faucet. As you can see I am trying to dry him off, hence the hair, but he wants to play still. He loves to play with the box that his heater for the bathroom came it. I think he likes the colors and he likes the sound it makes when he beats on it.

Daddy brought home a Burger King Crown for you. You were not to thrilled about it but it was cute on you.

You are in the kitchen playing with your toy that makes animal sounds. You have gotten better at not trying to take it off and bang it on the floor. You actually try to put the animals into the toy. You are really good at taking the animals out after Mommy puts them in for you.

Big Grandma bought you this toy for your birthday and you love it. You try so hard to make it go by yourself. You finally figured out how you can do it. You stood up next to it and that gave you enough leverage to get it going. You were so excited.I had to fight you to sleep again tonight. You are wanting to go to bed later and later the older you get. Momma is not adjusting to this well but as Daddy said we get to have more time to play that way so its not so bad.

Firsts

Kelton had his first hot dog tonight. He loved it. He had already had some of his dinner so I did not think he would eat much but he kept wanting more, I had to cut him off.
He said Papa tonight. My mom and I have been trying to get him to say Pa for a little while but in my childs world everything is said usually in multiples so papa is what comes out and he also has a papa mike that he loves dearly. So Papa Mike and Pa will be glad to here this new developement. Kelton with Pa.
The other night we were leaving MeMe and Papa Mike's and as his Daddy was walking out the door with him he just said "Bye". It was plain as day and unexpected because I was not trying to get him to say it. Funny thing is that it was just "Bye" instead of "Bye Bye".
I figured I would post some old pics of my little man. He is at 5-6 months old in these.

Walking

We have a full time walker! I have not seen him crawl hardly at all in the last few days. His new favorite thing at night is to walk to the office and open the bottom drawer to his Daddy's cabinet. Don't worry there isn't anything in the drawer and the cabinet is locked. He thinks it is so funny when I "catch" him in there.
And then he decides to explore more.

We opened some of his gifts that me and daddy bought him a few weeks ago. He got so much for Christmas and his birthday we waited for a night he wanted to play. He loved the blocks because he could throw them. He loved the lid more.

Daddy made a tower as tall as he is. Which by the way is 31 inches tall, he is in the 90th percentile in his height. We gave him this squishy toy that had a light ball in it. He liked the light but was not soo sure with the squishy part.
This is from New Years Day at Big Grandma and Pa's house. Cousin Kody was checking out your ride and telling someone on the phone about it.
Sara pushed you around on your car.

I wanted to not forget that you got to suck on your first big piece of ice the other night. Papa Mike dropped a piece on the floor and you went after it so he gave you a clean one and you loved hit. The cold felt good to your gums but we had to take it away from you because your hand was getting a little too red from holding it.

We went to Cracker Barrell last night to eat and I had to take you out for the first time in a long time. You are definetly at the stage where if you do not get what you want you let us know by screaming. I got on to you for throwing everything we gave you and that broke your heart.

First Time Ordering

Last night was the first time I ordered food specifically for Kelton. They did not have a kids menu but they did 2 chicken tenders and fries for kids. He was not very impressed. He only ate about 10 bites total. He did sample some with ketchup but he was still not to enthused. He is now at the stage where he is more inclined to eat snack foods than acutal table food. We will see what the future holds. At least we tried. Luckily Daddy will be on hand most of the time to eat what Kelton does not. :) He will still eat baby food so I tend to give him that after we try to get him to eat table food. Maybe I shouldn't do that because that might give him reason to not want table food. But the mother in me wants to make sure he is getting the right nutrition. And before you think it, I know fried chicken tenders and fries are not all that nutritious but I have to start somewhere on table food.

Yesterday, Jen Jen sent a pic of him giving Kaytlen a kiss on the head. He is soo loving. And as I am writing this I can see my loving son teaching little Mrs. Kaytlen bad things in the future. After all he is a boy.

He was very fussy on Wed. when I went to pick him up and when I got home he ate a ton of food so I figure he is having a growth spurt. I thought at this point he would not have growth spurts but it seems that he was. He was in such a better mood yesterday when I picked him up, he was all smiles. He still cracks me up with that smile. It is so funny though, he will be so vocal and the moment you put him in his car seat he is so quiet. I can hardly get him to talk in the car, I guess he is checking out the scenery.

We are almost totally off of bottles. He only gets one at night and the morning and tomorrow we will see how he does on all cups. Now the paci that is going to be a different story. I think I am going to have a hard time with that because as much as I hate to say it I love to be able to give him his paci when he is fussy because it usually helps. Sad but true. I will have to deal and work on that soon.

Oh the picture is a preview. I will post the rest later.

First Major Boo Boo

Last Saturday, you got your first major Boo-Boo. You fell out of your Pooh ride on toy and busted your top teeth and gums. You bleed and gave Grandma and me a scare but you seem to be okay. I called the Dr. and the nurse said that there was not much we could do. I gave you a teething ring because it was cold and suprisingly you chewed on it. You took your paci too which was a good sign that it was not too bad but Momma still worried over you. I am sure this is just the first of many bumps. You had your first bruise about a month ago when you fell on the table at MeMe and Papa Mike's.

The next day you still had your cold and Grandma wiped your nose. When she was done you took the tissue and tried to wipe Grandma's nose for her. It was too cute.

1st Birthday

Well we had 2 parties. One at Big Grandma's and one at home. The one at grandma's was on Saturday. You did great. You help open your presents and the best part was you demolished your cake. After we ate you decided to walk around with Papa Mike and you found the ice which you thought was funny. This was your cake before you got into it.This is after. You loved to squish it in your hands. We did get you to eat a little bit of it and you did sample it yourself but not much. You did keep trying to give some away.

I will have to post pics from the other party later.

Thanks to everyone.

Christmas Day

Woke up at 6:20 to get Kelton awake and a bottle so he would be in a good mood. Luckily it worked and he was great at Grandma's. He got soo many toys. His big thing was a Power Wheels 4 wheeler from Grandma and Grandpa, he got to see it a few days earlier because we wanted him to want to play with it. He did good he let people hold him on and push th button for him. I can not wait for warm weather to take him out in the yard with it. By then he will be inclined to push the button himself. He got many more great presents, Thank You to everyone for making his first Christmas great. He took 3 naps Christmas Day. We stayed at Big Grandma and Pa's most of the day and played and ate.

What a look.Start of when he was ready for his first nap. I am not sure what Momma is feeding him in the second photo but I love his face.
After he woke up from his first nap.

After the second nap.
